Save a Life, Get a Wife
Aug 18, 2009 Wedding Planning InstituteThere are some things even the best Certified Wedding Planner cannot anticipate.
On Friday, the soon-to-be Adam and Julie Hatfield were posing for pre-ceremony pictures at Riverside Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin when they heard a cry for help. A young girl had fallen into the Mississippi River and was followed by her distraught grandfather.
Without hesitation, Adam, Julie, and their wedding photographer sprang into action to help rescue the pair and still make it to their wedding on time, although their attire was a little worse for wear. Alas, Adam’s pants were torn in the process. Hopefully, their wedding planner had an emergency kit at the ready.
As for the bride and groom, the park where Adam first proposed to Julie is now also the venue where they celebrated their wedding day by saving the lives of two strangers.
Not a bad way to begin a marriage.

Great example of why all CWP’s should have their emergency kit handy at all times.

These two are genuine humanitarians. Im sure that they will treasure that days event for the rest of their lives. What a story to tell generations how two people unselfishly saved a precious life on thier day of matromony. Now this is definately a marriage that will be blessed in the eyes of God.

That wedding planner should be proud she helped such a great couple unite as one. If a man is willing to jump in to save two strangers like that, think of the things he will be willing to do for his own wife! That marriage should last forever!!

What a way to start your special day. This couple has truly found their someone, both didn’t even hesitate and the type of selflessness is hard to come by. I’ve heard of having an emergency kit but who would think of having an extra dress or tux? Just goes to show its not always about the glitz and glamor but about love and compassion.

This story is the extraordinaire of wedding stories. They are both good people. The Wedding Planner deserves a pat on the back for pulling that one off. Reading stories like this one will help all wedding planners to have their emergency kits well stocked with essentials. Don’t under estimate your emergency kit.

What a wonderful story, God bless this couple for putting the needs of somone else above theirs on the most important day of their lives. ( I am sure that if the wedding planner was a certified with LWPI she was prepared with the emergency kit).
