How About a Bit of Eye Candy?
May 14, 2010 Wedding Planning InstituteIt’s no surprise that wedding magazines never seem to go out of style - everybody loves to flip through them and see the latest trends! They’re filled with eye candy for brides-to-be and maybe even a few already-been-brides. (We admit it. We’re kind of obsessed with weddings. But how can we not be? They’re so fun and pretty and frilly and colorful and yes, okay, we’re addicts!) Here are a few of our favorite finds this week from etsy, which may be even better than our beloved magazines. (And yes - etsy is another one of our addictions!) All of you certified wedding and event coordinators are bound to have a few favorite finds of your own to share. Tell us about them in the comments!
1. Eco-friendly dress; 2. Custom-painted heels; 3. Hand-made shawl
1. Pearl and rhinestone necklace; 2. Mr. and Mrs. seat signs; 3. Vintage diamond ring
1. Bird-cage veil; 2. Hydrangea hair pins; 3. Hydrangea bouquet
And on that note, Happy Weekend to all of Lovegevity’s certified wedding and event coordinators. Wedding season is in full swing this month. We wish you weekends filled with brides, sunny skies and timely vendors!

As a student of WPI, I believe it is so important to meet the needs of all kinds of people. Finding various items of Etsy is a good way to find unique handcrafted treasures. Not only is it one of a kind but you are giving back and supporting upcoming hobbyists who wish to share their talents.
I love how all the ones picture above have a vintage feel to them, although you would be able to integrate it into almost any style/themed wedding some way or another.

I love the picture of the eco-friendly wedding dress. The trends of customization and being eco-friendly are growing more and more momentum. I can still remember the first time I saw a commercial about going green a few years ago and I barely knew what it was! Now we see it everywhere and the trend has helped to create new products and industries. Especially in the wedding industry I think it will be interesting to see what new products and innovative ideas will come out of this trend. If it’s something you’re passionate about as event planner, it’s definitely an interesting niche market to target and to become an expert in. Even if your brides aren’t specifically asking for “green” if your business itself is green and makes choices to be more sustainable, it gives you an edge that will not only be attractive to clients but can give you great publicity. I think it’s wonderful that the Wedding Planning Institute also offers a green wedding course.
