In the Wedding Planner Classroom: Bringing Events to Life
Oct 5, 2011 Wedding Planning InstituteBeing a certified wedding and event coordinator means you get the opportunity to take an idea and bring it to life. From color to texture to florals, your style is a big part of the finished product. Learning how to create events from start to finish is a major part of LWPI’s training for its students. And instructors are encouraged to allow their students to get hands-on practice during their courses. Marling Obando, an LWPI instructor at Miami-Dade College, Wolfson, recently encouraged her students plan an event from start to finish, and she provided the materials for them to do so in class. Based on an assigned linen color they brought one of their class exercises to life, just as they would a real event. Marling says her students enjoyed the activity, and it was only one of the hands-on experiences she provided.
What a fun project! Are you interested in becoming a certified wedding and event coordinator? Check LWPI’s class calendar for a course in your area, and take a tour to learn more about the LWPI classroom experience.

I considered signing up for the course online, and am really glad I decided to take the certification in a classroom setting. The instructor, Carol Crist, is passionate about wedding planning and gets interesting and relevant speakers. We also go on field trips to potential vendor locations. The speakers and vendors end up being great contacts for my fledgling business. thank you Carol, and Lovegevity for providing this great opportunity!

Looking at these images and seeing all the creative ways students transformed their tables to truly represent unique personalities and styles reiterates my conviction that choosing the CWEP path was the right one for me! I love how every detail was thought out and carefully executed! Kudos to the graduates and good luck with your future endeavors!

I just took the CEWP class at UT Arlington in Texas. I learned a lot more than I anticipated including skills that will translate into other areas. I would recommend the class.

My instructor was Ms. Obando as well. My class just finished this assignment last night. To have the opportunity to have this type of hands-on experience was amazing. We were able to see creativity at its best but also see how we can push to be even better at what we do. I enjoyed not only this experience but the class in its entirety.
