So you have probably have realized how quickly Pinterest is becoming the next best thing in social media. You see it everywhere but how can it work for you?
As a bride, Pinterest is a plethora of information and ideas for them to make the best choices for their wedding. It can range from DIY projects to the multimillion dollar décor that you love. The inspiration is endless. As a wedding planner though, how do you make it work for your business?
In January 2012 comScore reported the site had 11.7 million unique users, making it the fastest site in history to break through the 10 million unique visitor mark. The average Pinterest user is female between the ages of 24-54. Pinterest is becoming the place that brides are going to not only for inspiration, but to see vendor’s work. They could be scanning through for hours looking for the best floral arrangement, the best cake, etc, if you are not representing your work, how can you be found? As a vendor, there are a few things one should be wary of before posting every pic you have of your work;
1. Blatant self promotion is not looked kindly upon. To be successful, pinning from other Pinterest boards and other community members will make you more successful in the long run.
2. Pinning imagery that provokes interaction will maximize your result
3. If you are going to use Pinterest to help brand you, make sure you have the “pin it” buttons on your website along with your username for people to find you and follow.
Once you get started it begins a snowball of activity. Of course the most important advantage is the SEO benefits. With the obvious reason being, it can be linked to Facebook and Twitter for a more effective search results.

I absolutely love PINTEREST. This site has helped in find many ideas for my wedding and event planning business. In addition to being a great resource for information regarding weddings and event planning it also doubles as an online journal of sorts because you can document your likes and the current trends via boards. Pinterest is an excellent website all in all, I enjoy checking out others boards and ideas as well.

Pinterest is a great resource as a bride as well as a planner. When I was getting married I loved to put ideas all together in one place so that I could see everything at once. I used a cork board then, but now everything can be virtual. I think Pinterest is also a great way that a planner can put together a design board that allows their client to share their opinions as well. Using LWPI’s A6 formula on Pinterest, you can easily plan out the six areas of the event experience.

I love Pinterest! I find that it not only helped me in the WPI class but it continues to help for present clients. I can link them to my posts to see if they like the ideas as well as the brides linking me to their post to give me a constant update with their ideas and inspirations. I also can link posts from my website to get a higher number of clients.

I also LOVE Pinterest. I browed it alot even before I start the WPI. I used it to decorate my entire house! I used it for ideas when planning my own wedding and absolutely plan on using it when planning other weddings as well! There are so many different ideas and personalities on this site, you can pretty much find anything you need!

I totally agree with those who commented about Pinterest. It is a great way to organize yourself and use the A6 model. It is by far a new obsession for so many people, myself included! However, it sometimes causes a sensory overload if you are logging in just to look for something specific. It is almost impossible to just browse for a few minute. I often get stuck on the site for hours!! In order to keep yourself sane, organization is key on Pinterest. They make it easy to use and the site is very user friendly. I adore the fact that I can use the app on my iPhone as well!

This is such a great site. I have been using Pinterest to start gathering my ideas for upcoming events. I love that fact that I can access it from my computer or phone and share the ideas with vendors or friends that can assist with different events!!

I agree with everyone above. Pinterest is a great tool to help create the perfect wedding. The only problem I have with it is when I log on, I find myself getting off track because there are so many good things on there!

I love Pinterest. I really had no idea what it was about before I started my CWEP course. When you are just starting out, you don’t have much of a portfolio to show, but by creating inspiration boards on Pinterest, you can give a bride a very good idea of the style you want to suggest. Also, I plan on doing some floral, and I can easily pin photos of bouquets and centerpieces I KNOW I can either duplicate or use as a starting point rather than spending money to make samples for photos. Lastly, most brides will have a Pinterest. By seeing the images she has saved, you can easily understand your brides vision for her day.

I’m in love with Pinterest!!! my friends and i use it all the time. I love planning and hosting events, when i need ideas & thoughts i grab my iphone and head straight to Pinterest!!! It also has awesome information about weddings and parties. It’s helped me a great or deal and i will contuine using there site!

I love pinterest!! It is very useful and great not only for brides, it is great for every women who likes to follow new trends and things , there are many different ideas on the website and it is very easy to use. I love checking others boards and ideas also.. It is the best, will always use it
