Graduation FAQs

I'm a WPI Fast Track Wedding Planning Certification graduate...now what?
Congratulations on your graduation!!! We know that all of our graduates have worked hard to achieve certification. If you've put the time and effort in, you SHOULD already be on your way to running your own wedding planning business. You may be getting ready to start working on your associates degree in wedding planning or maybe you're one of the incredibly lucky certified wedding planners who has been hired by a wedding planning firm. Whichever scenario describes your personal situation we hope that as a WPI graduate you will continue to keep in touch. The first objective after graduation is to review the Post Certification Booklet that was sent to you after receiving your Certificate. This booklet details additional benefits, opportunities and programs only available to WPI graduates.

What do I get at time of graduating from the certification program?
All WPI graduates who complete graduation within 6 months of registering receive the following upon graduation:
  • WPI Certification Diploma and letter with CWP status
  • Reference letter confirming the student is a certified graduate of WPI.
  • Discounted Membership to The American Society of Wedding Planners
  • FREE 12 month wedding planner membership with Lovegevity.com, which includes request for all vendor services from brides in your area.
  • Updates and notifications of new projects and wedding planning opportunities in your area.
Will WPI confirm that I am a graduate if I need a reference for my clients or for a job reference?
Yes! Don't forget that all graduates are provided with a reference letter at the time of graduation, so you should make copies of this letter to include in your welcome packet of information you provide to your clients as well as a reference if applying for a job. If you need a more detailed response from WPI please contact us at admissions@weddingplanninginstitute.com and provide the details of what is required.

Where can I go to find a job as a wedding planner?
In your post Certification packet is information on applying for an internship. WPI is partnered with wedding professionals around the country and this allows us to offer both paid and non-paid internships that can also lead to employment. Review your post certification information on how to apply. For more information on internships and career opportunities click here.

Where should I go for support now that I am graduated?
We highly recommend following the Post Certification Packet for additional opportunities and review our monthly newsletters for job postings and announcements. We also recommend utilizing The American Society of Wedding Planners membership and seal of approval, as well as your connection with Lovegevity and their opportunities in your area. We also suggest becoming a member of The Association for Wedding Professionals International as well as The National Association of Catering Executives as they have expanded their membership to event planners.www.nace.net.
